Frequently asked questions
What does a ticket include?
A timed viewing (about 30 minutes) of the famous Rococo Hall. The combined tier also adds the library's exhibition. Because the hall is capped, we book only genuinely available slots and confirm your entry time when we secure it.
Why can't you just guarantee any date?
The Rococo Hall has a strict daily cap for conservation, and only a limited number of timed tickets are released each day, so dates genuinely sell out — especially weekends and in summer. We book slots that are truly available and confirm the one we secure, rather than promising a date we can't control.
How long do I get inside?
The viewing is short by design — about 30 minutes — to protect the restored hall and keep it calm. It's enough to walk the floor, take in the tiers of galleries, the busts and the skylight. Allow around 1.5–2 hours overall with arrival and, if added, the exhibition.
How far ahead should I book?
As early as you comfortably can. Tickets are typically released a few months ahead and popular slots go first, so the further out you plan — and the more flexible your dates — the better your chances. Tell us a small range of dates and we'll find the best available.
Do children and students pay?
Children and young people under 16 enter free (they still take a place in the capped slot, so tell us about them). Students pay a reduced rate with valid ID at entry. We build your booking to reflect the right mix.
How do I receive my ticket?
Once your slot is confirmed and paid, we email a PDF you can print or show on your phone, tied to your date and entry time. There's nothing to collect. Arrive in good time for your window and bring student ID if you booked a reduced rate.
What if my preferred date is full?
We'll tell you plainly and propose the nearest workable alternative — a different time on the same day or a nearby date. We never leave you guessing or hold a slot on a promise we can't keep. All sales are final once a slot is secured, with a refund only on operator failure.
Where is the library and how do I get there?
It's on the Platz der Demokratie in central Weimar, a short walk from the market square and the Goethe and Schiller houses. Weimar is about 15 minutes by train from Erfurt and roughly 2 hours from Leipzig or Frankfurt.
